Smeargle Information
Introduction

Smeargle is a Normal-type Pokémon that does not evolve. It is known as the painter Pokémon because it has a long tail that ends in a structure similar to a paintbrush and contains a special ink fluid.
A Pokémon that originally only has one move, called "Sketch." This move has the function of permanently copying another Pokémon's move, as long as it is not blocked for balance reasons. It will be possible to "reset" the copied moves later, but this will require a high cost, so the player must choose wisely the moveset they want to use.
There are eight types of Smeargle in the game, each version can copy the number of moves defined by its number, which appears when you look at the Poké Ball, or by hovering the mouse over it to display the item details. Each version has a different balance of strength, health, and defense.
Example of an Smeargle 8:

How to use Sketch (Copy a move)
Once the player knows which move they want to copy, they simply release their Smeargle, click or use the hotkey for the desired Sketch number, and then order it on the Pokémon that will have its move copied. For example, to copy M1 from a Pokémon X, the player must release their Smeargle and click on M1, or press the default "F1" key, and then order it on the Pokémon they want to copy the move to. A confirmation window will open so that the player does not make any mistakes when performing the mechanic.

Resetting the moves
To reset moves, the player must have a Smeargle Reset
, which can be obtained as a reward in the Embedded Tower. With the item in hand, simply right-click on it and, immediately after opening the aim, use it on the Poké Ball. A confirmation window will open, and if the player confirms, Smeargle will be ready to learn new moves.

Note: When a move is removed from a copied Pokémon for any reason, Smeargle will be reset.

Blocked Moves
Some moves are strategically blocked from being copied for balance reasons, and can be identified through the Pokédex (Shift+D). Restricted moves will have an icon with a color palette and an X labeled "Sketch Blocked."

Non-copyable Pokémon
Notes
- This list is not updated whenever new moves enter the game. Be very careful when planning your Smeargle's moveset, considering attacks that have just entered the game or new Pokémon. It is best to test questionable skills before copying other attacks;
- Smeargle does not copy attacks from any Shiny Pokémon or variants (Elites, Dark Abra, Crystal Onix, Big Onix, Giant Galvantula, Unown Legion, and T1H);
- Smeargle does not copy attacks from any Mega Pokémon;
- Smeargle Smeargle does not copy attacks from any Pokémon considered legendary in the PxG story;
- O Smeargle does not copy attacks from any Pokémon with the Tanker (PvE) and Support Over Time (PvE) roles;
- O Smeargle does not copy repeated attacks. For example, if it already has an attack in slot 5, it will not copy the same attack in slot 6;
- Due to its unique mechanics, Castform can only have its moves copied in its wild form, and it is not possible to copy them from other players;
- If you want to copy an attack that is m7 for a Pokémon, your Smeargle must have Sketch up to m7. A Smeargle that only has 4 *Sketch can only copy attacks up to m4;
- The copied attack will have the same power, cooldown, and level as the Pokémon you copied it from. For example, if you copy Absorb from a Ludicolo, you will need to be level 100 to use it, and it will have the same power and cooldown. It would be different if you had copied it from a Lotad;
- Smeargle isn't a hard Pokémon to catch, but of course, the better its stats are, the rarer it will be;
- It is not possible to copy the attacks of the following helpers: Scarecrow Builder, Snowman Builder, and Snowman Builder2;
- It is not possible to copy any passive skills.
