Intro
Nightmare World (NW) “Nightmare World (NW)” is a regional update in which the Kanto cities we know have been devastated by an invasion of Pokémon and Trainers corrupted by Darkrai's nightmares. In addition, the power of this Legendary Pokémon has also created the Darkrai Minions, which roam throughout the Kanto region.
History
In the Pokémon world, there is the Lunar Duo, Pokémon with the power to control the subconscious minds of people and other Pokémon.
Darkrai is known for destroying people's dreams and causing endless nightmares, driving them to insanity. It can only be stopped by its opposite, Cresselia, who is responsible for bringing dreams to people. Therefore, Cresselia will always be by Darkrai's side to stop it.
In the distant future, a Pokémon scientist named Dr. Sarkies had his family murdered by a member of Team Rocket. This event drove him mad, and he began to wish that the whole world would suffer as he did. From then on, Dr. Sarkies imprisoned Cresselia, leaving Darkrai completely free to carry out his deeds without interruption.
With Darkrai running free for several years, Kanto lay in ruins and was completely overrun by evil. Pokémon Trainers were trapped in endless nightmares, leaving cities destroyed and corrupting the entire environment.
To save Kanto's future, Celebi returns to our time in search of trainers capable of changing the future, aiming to free Cresselia and stop Dr. Sarkies and Darkrai.
Then, one day in 2018, Celebi appeared. This Pokémon told the whole story behind that strange phenomenon and is recruiting the strongest players to go with him into the future. The player will go on a time travel journey, witnessing all the events in the world from 2018 to 2038, and understanding why everything happened the way it did.
At the end of this journey with Celebi, the trainer will finally arrive in 2038 (that is, in Nightmare World). At that point, the player will be greeted by some NPCs who will explain the situation in more detail and teach them some new mechanics essential for surviving in that devastated world. After that, you’ll be free to do whatever you want within NW.
General Information
- You must be at least level 200 to access the region. However, the area was designed for and is recommended for players level 300 and above.
- Weak hunts grant reduced experience to players below level 300, who begin to receive full experience upon reaching exactly level 300. Check out the complete table.
- High-level hunts do not grant experience or loot to players below level 400.
- The Party System works differently within NW. For more information, click here.
- Players above level 450 receive a 1% reduction in loot and EXP per level in weak hunts.
Example: A level 475 player is 25 levels above level 450, so they will receive 25% less loot and EXP from low-level hunts.
- You don't need to be a VIP to enter Nightmare World, but you do need to be a VIP to use Excadrill.
Attention: Reduced loot affects the drop rates of Angry Pokémon, Shinies, Mega Evolutions, and Nightmare Crystals found in low-level hunts.
- To get to NW, just go to Cerulean and then to the cave beneath Bill Lighthouse, as shown on the map.
- When you arrive, talk to Celebi.
- Travel back in time, and you'll arrive in the NW. To return to Kanto, just talk to Celebi.
- At this point, you should complete the NW Tutorial so you can explore the area. Just go up the stairs and start the tutorial with the NPC Tracey.
- Once you're done, you can leave the cave and you'll find yourself at the Cerulean Resistance. You'll also become a resident of this Resistance. To return, simply talk to the Celebi at the Resistance you're at, and you'll be sent back to Original Kanto in Cerulean.
Notes:
- The NW region features six Resistances: Cerulean, Cinnabar, Fuchsia, Lavender, Pallet and Pewter. Each has a portal and a Celebi that transports you back to Cerulean in the original Kanto.
- Regarding returning to Original Kanto, you can leave through any NW portal, but when you re-enter, you’ll arrive in the city where you’re a resident.
- To become a resident of another Resistance, simply speak to the Resident standing next to Celebi, and you can become a resident of that Resistance at no cost.
As the player progresses through Nightmare World, they will be able to increase their Nightmare Level. The Nightmare Level will grant the player a bonus level, which will only be effective within NW.
This bonus level is indicated by a (+) next to the player's base level, as shown in the following example:
The additional level will be added to the player's base level. For example, a player with a base level of 315 and Nightmare Level 15 will have a (+21) level bonus. In this case, the total will be 315 + 21 and the player will have a level strength of 336.
This system is designed to balance and make the content of Nightmare World more accessible to lower-level players.
Notes:
- The bonus level will be higher the higher the Nightmare Level is, but lower the higher the player's level is. In other words, it is completely normal for the bonus level to decrease as the player levels up.
- The maximum Nightmare Level is 100, and the player's total level will never exceed 600.
They are obtained in the Nightmare World environment by completing tasks, defeating NPCs from the Nightmare Brotherhood or through Daily Quests.
It is used to complete certain missions, make crafts, and more.
