Após se provar capaz de resolver o enigma, Stacy vai analisar o jogador para decidir a pessoa mais adequada para orientá-lo sobre os elementos da natureza: Fogo, Água ou Planta.

Ao contrário de outros chefes de quest, como o [[Dusknoir|'''Cursed Dusknoir''']] da '''[[Emilia Quest]]''' ou o '''[[Giant Porygon]]''' da [[Cyber World|'''Cyber Quest''']], o Shiny Mismagius não tem mecânicas muito complexas e é relativamente fácil de derrotar. Sugere-se que o jogador leve muitos revives, e faça uso da parede que há na área, à esquerda do fantasma (e um pouco acima):

O Shiny Mismagius perseguirá o jogador e seus pokémon como qualquer pokémon selvagem agressivo, criando várias ilusões para confundir e atrapalhar. É sugerido ao jogador posicionar seu pokémon de um lado da parede, ordenar que ele fique parado (com o comando !pokestop - que pode ser colocado em uma hotkey através das configurações de atalhos, para ativação rápida) e posicionar seu treinador do lado oposto, para que a parede o proteja dos ataques do boss.
 
Uma vez que o Mismagius esteja dentro do alcance dos ataques de área de seu pokémon, o jogador pode ativá-los e usar um revive para recarregar o tempo de espera instantaneamente. Em seguida, basta soltar novamente o pokémon, ordenar que ele fique parado mais uma vez, correr para o outro lado da parede enquanto o Mismagius dá a volta, e repetir o processo até derrotá-lo. Não é necessário utilizar mais de um pokémon, a menos que seus revives acabem.
 
Como o boss só aparece depois que o jogador utiliza o Silph Scope no fantasma, é possível treinar e se familiarizar com a área antes.
