How it works

This system allows players to fish for certain Pokémon. To fish, the player must use the fishing rod ( ) located in the action bar, next to the Pokedex icon. You can also use the standard shortcut Shift + Z, and then click on the water. After a while the water will bubble up, at which point the player will have to click on the fishing rod again (or use the Shift + Z shortcut).

The more the player fishes, the more the fishing level will increase, making it possible to attract stronger Pokémon. The player can get different types of bait, depending on how they are obtained.

Fishing Challenge

A fishing challenge may appear upon reaching fishing level 30. On successfully completing the challenge, the player will be rewarded with a greater gain in fishing experience, and the chance of hooking rare Pokémon is also considerably increased.

To complete the challenge, the player must keep the fishing bar over the fish that will be moving, when it reaches 100% the challenge will be completed and the Pokémon hooked. If you don't complete it, it will appear again, but don't worry, the bait won't be consumed if you don't succeed.

Note: The lures White Big Shrimp, Ultra Special Lure, Special Fish Tail, Great Special Lure and Golden Fish do not activate the fishing challenge.

Notes:

The Fisherman's Elixir can be used to increase the appearance of rarer Pokémon, but it only works if the player is fishing without a lure.
The Fishing Level can influence the amount of Pokémon fished.
